We Are Social brings Stephanie Levy onboard as director of content

We Are Social has hired Stephanie Levy to serve as director of content, a newly created role at the agency.

In this position, she will oversee the global social media agency’s US creative department and will be tasked with delivering “breakthrough creative thinking” for the agency’s clients, which include Banana Republic and Heineken.

Previously, Levy served as a freelance associate creative director for Jack Morton Worldwide, according to her LinkedIn profile. Before that, she served as director of creative for social media and online editorial content at Clinique.

Rob FitzGerald, president of We Are Social, said of Levy’s appointment: “In addition to her breadth of experience and track record, Stephanie perfectly mirrors our roll-your-sleeves-up and collaborative culture. Her appointment reflects We Are Social’s commitment to continually evolve our delivery of content and creative innovation, which we believe is key to driving successful social media programs for brands.”

According to We Are Social, the agency’s New York office has experienced “rapid growth” since it opened in 2012. Last year, the agency opened another US office in San Francisco. It also has offices in London, Paris, Milan, Munich, Berlin, Singapore, Shanghai, Sydney and São Paulo.

Over the past few years, We Are Social has created social media campaigns for brands including Old Navy and Netflix. To help Old Navy drive awareness for its annual flip flop sale, the agency enlisted the help of a number of “Vine influencers,” who created Vines focused around the sandals. According to We Are Social, the Vines received more than 670,000 impressions and helped Old Navy pick up more than 2,000 new followers on the social video platform.
