This week on the Social Buzz Show The Drum’s Adam Libonatti-Roche caught up with Javier Burón of Audiense to discuss the impact Twitter has had on TV and events.

During the show Burón chatted about his path to from university to founder and chief executive of Audiense – formerly Social Bro – and the “God-like” power Twitter has provided marketers with.

Speaking of the recent success of Netflix’s Making a Murderer, Burón deems it an “interesting case” with “all the ingredients” to social success. “It’s real-time, true and unbelievable,” he said. “It created a lot of emotions and reactions.”

In addition to talking about the impact social can have on TV and events, Burón revealed he’s “curious” to see how Twitter handles its recent purchase of the NFL streaming rights and that he’ll be watching how this “change of power” plays out.

The series accompanies The Drum’s weekly Social Buzz chat, which takes place every Tuesday between 7-8pm GMT. You can follow and contribute on Twitter using the hashtag #SMBuzzChat.
