Concert-goers keen for live experiences but unable to travel to a gig in person could have a new solution to hand courtesy of a novel collaboration between NextVR and Live Nation.

The partnership will see both companies broadcast ‘hundreds of live, cutting-edge performances in virtual reality to music fans worldwide’, joining an ever growing list of firms keen to jump on board the latest technological bandwagon.

Whilst happy to divulge the extent of their service both NextVR and Live Nation remain tight-lipped on precisely which acts will be given the virtual reality treatment – although Live Nation’s upcoming events include headline acts such as Rhianna and Beyonce.

Anyone wishing to remotely attend one of these events will need to wait until the summer before donning either a Samsung Gear VR headset or one of Facebook’s Oculus devices.

NextVR believes that music is a crucial hook to draw customers into the VR universe having previously experimented with streaming boxing matches, a political debate and a Daytona race.
