Apple rival Xiaomi confirms 2016 smartwatch launch
Xiaomi has confirmed it is indeed working on a smartwatch, further strengthening the comparisons between itself and western rival Apple.
The Chinese company has witnessed explosive growth in its home market with expansion across Asia and now the west.
The company has confirmed it has been working on a smartwatch for a year. Called the Mi (coinciding with its Mi mobile brand), the smartwatch will launch later this year.
Company co-founder and vice president Liu De made the announcement on Wednesday during a Beijing conference, according to GizmoChina.
