The judges have voted, plus the votes counted, and the shortlist is now available for public viewing for the 2016 The Drum Search Awards.

Paid-for search still accounts for the majority of all digital spend growing 15.3 per cent during the period to hit £4.36bn. So while the digital industry types may be extolling the virtues of mobile, programmatic and social, search is still tops the lot when it comes to advertisers’ media budgets, with the best of the best in this year’s categories announced at a gala event hosted in London on 8 June.

Leading this year’s list of candidates, with 10 nominations each are MediaCom and Starcom Mediavest Group, with Periscopix on nine, whilst in joint third place with seven nominations each are iProspect and Wolfgang Digital, and TMW Digital are up for six gongs. Find out more details here.

Commenting on the line-up, chairman of the judging panel, Simon Vaughan, head of PPC and programmatic, at Direct Line Group, said: “This year's entrants to the Drum Search Awards were all of a high calibre which made the judging very tricky at times. It's really good to see such a wide variety of entries and some really creative and innovative uses of search.”

Commenting on what makes these awards different from all the rest, he added: “These awards are a brilliant platform for advertisers and agencies to shout about how they are going above and beyond to deliver effective search campaigns and it's great to see The Drum Awards supporting the industry."

The winners will be revealed on 8 June at the Marriott Grosvenor Square, be there, and become a better search advertiser, find out more here
