Leicester City’s David and Goliath Premier League heroics have grown the club’s brand value to the forefront of Europe’s elite, according to new figures from sports analytics firm Brandtix.
London-based Brandtix specialises in measuring the brand value of clubs and players based on an array of metrics which cover both on-pitch performance and social media sentiment.
In providing a real-time measurement of brand appeal Brandtix is able to advice brands and sponsors on a club or players sponsorship value across different regions. The platform also works with clubs to inform them where they audiences are growing and which players are popular in a particular region.
Leicester City’s impressive performance this season has elevated the English Premier League Club’s sponsorship appeal massively according to the Brandtix index.
The club have accumulated more than 378,000 new followers across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram this week which positions them between Barcelona and Juventus.
As the season nears its finale Leicester’s popularity has continued to accelerate with a 29 per cent increase in new followers compared to the previous week.
The index also shows Leicester City’s brand value has grown by over 11 per cent in the past three months, positioning them in the top 15 most valuable teams in Europe.
With 9 per cent of the Foxes social media followers coming residing in the US the club are well positioned to capatalise on this season’s success by increasing potential to bring on board major US sponsors.
