It’s a question the brand has been asking since 1968. While we thought ‘the world may never know’, nearly 50 years later, in February 2015, science and a group of researchers at NYU and Florida State University finally proved Mr Owl wrong. By approximately 997 licks.

The original Tootsie Pop campaign conceived by Detroit-based Doner is a marketing moment that remains as iconic and relevant today as when it was first conceived.
