Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother is set to stretch the definition of the word celebrity to its absolute limit by enlisting a man famous for appearing in a photo with a faux terrorist threatening to blow up a plane.

Earlier this month, an Egypt Airlines flight was redirected to Cyprus by a man purporting to have a bomb strapped to his chest.

Ben Innes, was one of the crew who took a picture with the would-be bomber Seif Eldin Mustafa, who in the end was found to be carrying a fake bomb.

Leeds-based health and safety auditor Innes gained notoriety for his toothy grin in the face of adversity which was incorrectly reported as a selfie in the media.

This comes after it emerged Celebrity Big Brother was named the most complained about series in the regulator’s history – boasting 73,788 complaints since it was first launched on Channel 4.
