Insurance company Hiscox is undertaking a review of its UK advertising business, an account that has been held by VCCP for the last eight years.

It is understood that VCCP will be re-pitching for the account. The agency declined to comment.

Hiscox last year expanded its relationship with VCCP when it led a pitch for a creative partner across Europe, with a focus on Germany and France, as it looked to build the brand across the region.

“We are moving into the next exciting phase of the brand’s development and felt that the time was right to look at our creative agency relationship”, said Will Abbott, Hiscox UK marketing director. “We are very grateful to VCCP for their contribution to the brand and in particular the on-going success of our small business campaigns. However, it is also important to us to seek out fresh insights that can help evolve our advertising further.”

The business has placed a focus on content over the last few years and looked to raise awareness via a scripted branded content series called ‘Leap Year’ that tells the story of five people who are fired from their jobs and become entrepreneurs.

The first agency meetings will be held towards the end of April and are being managed by ISBA.
