Interpublic Group’s Seattle-based HackerAgency has brought on Julie Rezek to serve as North American president, a newly created role at the agency.

She joins from Wunderman Seattle, where she served as president and global client lead for Microsoft. As part of her new role, she will be taking over some of the responsibilities of HackerAgency’s executive vice president and general manager Matt Witter, who is leaving after 15 years “to explore other opportunities.”

In this role, she will be tasked with growing the direct marketing agency’s North American presence while finding “innovation solutions to business problems.” While the agency is headquartered in Seattle, its other offices are in Munich, Prague, Beijing, Shanghai and Auckland.

CEO of HackerAgency Spyro Kourtis said of Rezek: “We’re excited that Julie is joining us. She is a terrific business partner and leader for the next stage of growth at HackerAgency.”

Rezek joined WPP’s Wunderman in 1999 as director of eMarketing at its Toronto office and has since then held a number of senior roles at the company. She is also well-recognized in the Seattle/West Coast advertising community, with Seatte Met naming her "The Face Of Advertising" and the Puget Sound Business Journal honoring her as one of its "40 Under 40."

HackerAgency works with brands including AT&T, Uber and Volkswagen.
