Debenhams marketing director Richard Cristofoli has taken on an expanded remit as part of a wider restructure to bring the retailer’s store and online management under one team.

As part of the move, all of the retailer’s creative and marketing functions will come together for the first time under one umbrella, led by Cristofoli.

He has now assumed additional responsibility for digital design and creative, online photography, editorial content and print services.

“This is an exciting, though natural, step in our evolution to becoming truly omnichannel as an organisation," he told The Drum.

"Having a unified marketing and creative function ensures we continue to evolve and transform our brand, putting the customer at the forefront- in every channel and all media.”

It comes as part of wider changes to the management team, which have seen Ross Clemmow, until recently the high street giant’s e-commerce director, become retail director for the UK and Ireland.

Former retail director Mike Goring is set to leave Debenhams for an as yet unknown role.
