Critical Mass announced two moves in their North American management team with one new hire and promotion of a 10-year vet of the agency. Connie Eggert joins the New York team as SVP and Mark Ashbaugh has been elevated to general manager of the Toronto office.

Eggert will focus primarily on the agencies Citi account and comes from WPP’s Team BAC, where she led integration, strategic development and execution of consumer bank programs across Bank of America’s more than 20 agencies.

“Connie’s depth of experience is unmatched,” said Di Wilkins, CEO Critical Mass. “She is an expert in the application of experience design to consumer banking, and we are honored to work with her.”

Ashbaugh, who previously served as vice president client partner, leads the agency’s Visa and AT&T business. The new role retains these responsibilities in addition to leading the Toronto office.

“Mark will work with the team in Toronto to ensure that we continue to provide leadership and world class work for our clients, as well as help grow the Toronto Office,” said Chris Gokiert, President Critical Mass.

Founded in 1996, the Calgary-based global digital experience design agency was listed as third best digital/specialist agency in the world by The Warc and, last month, was tapped as an “agency to watch” by Gartner in their annual Magic Quadrant for Global Digital Marketing Agencies.
