To celebrate the Ad Club of New York's 120th anniversary, The Drum is inviting readers to share their favorite marketing moments from the past 120 years.

Today’s marketing moment was chosen by Deacon Webster, co-founder and chief creative officer at NYC agency Walrus. Below, find out why FedEx’s 1981 “Fast Talker” spot is his favorite ad of all time.

“Pittsburgh’s perfect Peter, may I call you Pete?”

Everyone who saw this installment of the classic 'absolutely positively' FedEx campaign instantly wanted to try and talk like the guy in the ad, ‘motormouth’ Joe Moschitta, and they instantly wanted see the spot again.

A perfect piece of advertising, it’s 100% on strategy, and 100% hilarious. FedEx has a long history of great commercials, but this one is still the best.
