Following our Easter Creative Works special from Friday (25 March) The Drum readers have crowned Aldi’s ‘Favourite Things’ as their top seasonal ad this year.

Starring eight-year-old Josie Cooper, the fantastical piece depicts a surreal environment of edible Easter treats including hot cross bun mountains, coiled butter fields and chocolate fountains.

Crafted by model maker Paul Baker, the scenes took a fortnight to build from Aldi produce props before Cooper was given the chance to explore for the cameras.

In an added bonus, the supermarket has also paid homage to Cadbury’s famous drumming gorilla for its latest ‘Like Brands’ push promoting Aldi’s chocolate bunnies.
