Jobs for life may be a thing of the past in the west but not so in China where one concerned father has taken matters into his own hands in an effort to find a partner for his son - by placing a job advert for the highly personal post at a local jobs fair.

Driven by desperation Chen Jinrong opted to go down the unconventional route to finding the perfect match after fearing his son’s poor social skills were holding him back from finding a new partner a decade on from his divorce, a vacancy which happened to dovetail with a requirement to find a new manager for the family’s rubber factory.

Potential candidates at a local jobs fair were presented with the posting which read: “Female boss needed for rubber factory. Must be 38 years of age or under. Junior high school graduate or above. Can be divorced or have children. Hard-working, possess computer and management skills."

Fortunately for Chen the ad seems to have done the trick with several potential candidates coming forward for the split role, although wedding bells may not be set to toll just yet.

Speaking to Chinese media Chen’s embarrassed son said: “I know my father is doing this for my own good, but marriage is more about finding the person I like.”
