MTV Movie Awards nominees to be announced on Snapchat
Viacom and Snapchat announced last month that the former would sell advertising on behalf of the latter, but the partnership is also paying off in other ways.
On Tuesday, MTV will announce the nominations for the 25th anniversary edition of the MTV Movie Awards via its new Snapchat Discover channel. The Shorty Awards, honoring the best of social media, recently announced their finalists on Snapchat as well. The awards, which will be hosted by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart, take place on Sunday, April 10.
MTV is also partnering with Google to allow fans to vote for "Movie of the Year" by typing "MTV Vote" into the Google search bar. America's Got Talent has leveraged this in the past.
