MTV Germany launches 'MTV + You' live on Facebook Mentions

Henner Herwig Jürgens is the managing director and co-founder of Vast Media, a media research and consulting company based in Berlin that provides international television industry leaders with qualitative competitive market analysis of digital entertainment and content marketing.

Last Tuesday, (23 February) Germany premiered the first episode of its new show 'MTV + You' on its official Facebook page, the first ever show format that airs live via Facebook Mentions only.

Every Tuesday beginning at 8pm, the one-hour interactive show is streamed live from the MTV studios in Berlin. It is hosted by the YouTuber couple Maren Merkel (alias Mary M. who has 650k subscribers on YouTube) and Tobias Wolf (alias Tobi Tobstaar, 149k subscribers), who discuss everything pop culture with the viewers.

In the show, Maren and Tobias talk about news, gossip and trends from the TV, movie and music business. In the first show, for example, they discussed Kanye West's new album and the celebration of the 200th episode of "The Big Bang Theory" in Pasadena.

Viewers are invited to participate and interact with the hosts via the comment feature. The viewers' comments are displayed on a big screen in the studio for the two hosts. MTV Germany's Facebook page currently has about 629k fans. The first episode had about 62k views and the viewers wrote more than 5,000 comments.
