Ogilvy's Leo Ryan to join Spredfast as VP customer success EMEA
Social software platform Spredfast has tapped one of Ogilvy & Mather's social heads, Leo Ryan, to join as vice-president customer success, EMEA.
Currently head of innovation and partnerships at Oglivy's social arm Social@Ogilvy, Ryan's newly-created role will see him charged with growing a team of 15 with a focus on consulting with customers around the firm's products.
The enterprise social media platform, which helps brands manage their online content and plan engagement with fans and followers, counts Channel 4, BT Sport, the Brit Awards and Burberry among its client roster.
The hire follows a string of fresh appointments for the firm, including US-based Ashley Brown's move from vice-president of social strategy to vice-president of global communications.
Commenting on his move, Ryan said he was "really excited to take things to the next level" for the company.
"I have been involved in social since 2005, and have long been fascinated by technology and the software as a service (SaaS) model. The industry has matured over that time and software along with it (some software more than others :), and clients demand mature software that can ably identify conversations, distribute content and engage with customers," he said.

"Spredfast affords me the opportunity to get involved in pure play digital, build world-class social technology, and focus on serving clients in a new way - getting involved in the hardware of their business via social," he added.
Virginia Miracle, chief customer officer at Spredfast said: "We are ecstatic to welcome Leo Ryan into the Spredfast family.
"His passion for technology coupled with his experience as a senior social counselor to some of Ogilvy's biggest brands will be of huge benefit to the current and future Spredfast customer base as well as our very talented London office."
