Amazon hopes to pack a punch with Jean-Claude Van Damme pilot
Belgian actor Jean Claude Van Damme is to weave together reality and fiction for his latest role as a washed up actor and martial artist who is forced out of retirement to become an undercover private contractor.
The action comedy has been chosen by Amazon for a pilot episode which will see the muscles from Brussels star as a caricature of himself; Jean-Claude van Johnson, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
This will see the Belgian embark on bouts of comedic violence for his paymasters under the guise of acting with the pilot said to revolve around a reimagined film version of Huckleberry Finn.
Directed by Peter Atencio the pilot is being written by Dave Callaham, script-writer for The Expendables and is planned to start production in May.
