The Specialist Works (TSW) has won Norwegian adventure cruise company Hurtigruten's UK media planning and buying account.

Hurtigruten cruises the coasts of Norway, Greenland and Antarctica.

TSW, which won a competitive pitch, will handle Hurtigruten’s £1 million media spend across consumer and trade titles and sites.

Hurtigruten offers "exhilarating adventure experiences" along the Norwegian coastline and the polar regions of Spitsbergen, Greenland and Antarctica. British private equity firm TDR Capital, the owner of David Lloyd Leisure, teamed up with investors Periscopus and Home Capital to buy stock market-listed Hurtigruten in 2014 and take it into private ownership.

Richard Adams, UK head of marketing at Hurtigruten, says the partnership with The Specialist Works makes sense: "Both companies have innovative brand values and both are pioneering and entrepreneurial by nature."

Jim Lewcock, founder and chief executive of TSW, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Hurtigruten and cannot wait to be able to handle the account and use our media experience to propel them to accomplishing a dominant position in their specialist field.”

Based in London, customer acquisition agency TSW works with clients including Ocado, Boohoo.com, Graze and the RSPB.
