Under Armour steps into the ring with Anthony Joshua sponsorship

Under Armour has strengthened its presence in boxing after agreeing a three year sponsorship deal with heavyweight boxer star Anthony Joshua.

The partnership will see the undefeated (15-0) British boxer and his team promote the brand’s training and in-ring apparel while its footwear range.

The timing of the announcement is ideal for the Baltimore-based brand given Joshua’s highly anticipated upcoming IBF title shot against champion Charles Martin on 9 April in London.

Joshua, a London 2012 Olympic gold medallist, now joins a growing roster of Under Armour athletes across an array of sports including tennis ace, Andy Murray, Manchester United footballer Memphis Depay, NBA player Stephen Curry, American footballer Tom Brady and skier, Lindsey Vonn.

Joshua has emerged as a fast rising star in the sport having set the heavyweight division alight recently with enthralling victories such as his most recent bout against Dillian Whyte.
