Independent agency BJL has elevated three of its senior directors to its board to bring creative, PR and strategic expertise to its expansion efforts.

Creative directors Richard Pearson and Karl Stones will sit on the board alongside director Julie Chadwick.

Both Pearson and Stones joined the agency in 2013, though Pearson started his career there before he left in 2008 after nine years. Stones is credited with campaigns such as last year’s Ronseal Apology and Jacamo’s ‘Hakarena’. Chadwick, a former global marketing and communications director at the Manchester Business School, has held senior corporate affairs roles at both The Co-operative and Tesco.

Nicky Unsworth, chief executive at BJL, said: “These new board appointments are a great example of how we are strengthening BJL’s creative and strategic representations at the heart of the agency. As well as attracting top talent, I believe it is vital to develop your own people, so I’m delighted to be making promotions at this level from within our agency.”
