Kanye West 'The Life of Pablo' album plea sees Tidal hit No1 in the App Store
Eccentric musician Kanye West’s decision to stall the release of his upcoming album The Life of Pablo and release it exclusively on music streaming service Tidal has resulted in the app rising to the top of the most downloaded list in the app store.
U-turning on a promise to release the album for sale on his website, West instead gave the streaming service exclusive access for a week.
Between him tweeting that Bill Cosby is innocent, he is ‘this generation’s Disney’ and him asking Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to ‘call him’, West made the announcement.
Please for all music lovers. Please subscribe to tidal!!! I decided not to sell my album for another week. Please subscribe to tidal.

West unveiled the album on Tidal for a free live-stream on Friday and clearly, decided it should remain there for the time being.
Following the success of the album, he tweeted.
Man thank you so so so much everyone for signing up to Tidal. Tidal is now the number one app in the world!!! pic.twitter.com/O3r9DkX03R

The Verge reports that the app now sits atop the iOS App Store and is 30th Top Grossing which could be good news for Jay-Z’s music service following a widely mocked release and several shuffles of its board.
