OMD and Coca-Cola named most awarded agency and advertiser

The annual Gunn Report for Media has named OMD as the most awarded media agency network in the world for 2015 following an exhaustive survey of the most important awards programmes in 42 global markets.

OMD beat off competition from Starcom MediaVest, Mindshare, PHD and Mediacom (ranked second through fifth) to claim the top spot thanks to campaigns such as ‘Penny the Pirate’ for OPSM.

Separately Coca-Cola was named the most awarded global advertiser after the soft drink brand garnered more international accolades than rival brands such as Samsung, McDonald’s, Vodafone & Ikea which rounded out the top five.

Journalist Isabelle Musnik, editor of The Gunn Report for Media, commented: "Creativity and media are not mutually exclusive or even in competition - they interact with each other. While technology and data are fundamental to achieving results, it is insight, strategy and ideas that are essential to delivering them.”
