Twitter may be u-turning on its reduced ad plan for VIP users
Twitter appears to be loosening its ‘almost ad free’ experience for verified users after a number of Twitter VIPs confirmed that that they have begun seeing them again.
Twitter VIP ads
The struggling social media platform initially rolled out the drastically reduced ad timeline last month in a bid to get some of its VIP users to stay engaged with the service.
However Re/Code has flagged up a number of Verified users who have revealed that ads are becoming more frequent after the lull.
Hmmm, JUST started seeing Promoted Tweets in Twitter feeds today, in my Verified account. Interesting!

Twitter’s decision to reduce ads has been one of many ill-favoured changes which has resulted in plummeting stocks including the character limit proposal and changes to how tweets appear in the timeline. The negativity culminated in the hashtag #RIPTwitter trending.
Jack Dorsey moved to quell the discontent over the proposed changes, promising that Twitter would continue to refine its live feed identity. The company is due to report its fourth quarter earnings today (10 February) and expectations are dim in light of its plummeting stock.
