All you need is love: Skype and Paul McCartney partner for Valentines 'Mojis'
Skype has announced a partnership with Sir Paul McCartney which has resulted in a new set of ‘Moji’ emoticons for Valentine's Day.
Mojis, which can be sent inside Skype apps on both desktop and mobile, are both animated and feature sounds and music.
The partnership sees McCartney lend his voice and musical talent to the new animated icons, which include an octopus proffering a number of romantic gifts (including a risqué set of fuzzy handcuffs) and a turtle pretending to kiss somebody.
It’s best to see Skype’s own promotional video for yourself. It’ll make more sense.
In a blog post, the company said: “Paul genuinely loves Skype and, inspired by our existing Mojis, was excited to lend his voice to the Mojis family. Likewise, we were over the moon to work with Paul, and it was a great creative challenge for us to create the animations to compliment his legendary sound.”
McCartney, speaking in a pre-recorded segment, said he found soundtracking the Mojis challenging to do, adding: “I’m quite pleased with the way they’ve turned out. I hope that people will use them, sending messages of love.”
