Crowdfunding website Kickstarter celebrates 100,000 successfully backed campaigns

Kickstarter has announced that it has been responsible for funding 100,000 campaigns since its launch over six years ago.

The crowdfunding website, founded 28 April 2009, on Monday announced that photography project 'Falklands/Malvinas: One War, All Wars', became the 100,000th project funded through the platform.

To mark the moment, the company released 100 facts about the company some of which are below.

The 100,000 projects were launched by 86,101 people, showing that some users are capable of replicating their initial funding success - 8,539 to be precise have launched more than one completed fundraiser with one individual skewing results with 94 projects.

Upon the site’s inception, it took 121 days to get its first 100 fully funded campaigns – now its popularity is apparent however, it took only three days to fund the last 100 drives.
