In what could be one of the highest-rated ads for the Super Bowl this year (or at least considered one of the cutest), Heinz announced a return to the game with a new 30-second television commercial.

“Weiner Stampede,” which will air during the third quarter, supports the launch of a new campaign called “Meet the Ketchups,” that highlights the various Heinz condiment varieties. The spot itself features characters dressed up as Heinz condiments with a stampede of dachshunds in appropriate hot dog “dress” unleashed on them. The iconic “Without You,” by Harry Nilsson, serves as the appropriate musical foundation.

Miami-based David created the spot and campaign, which builds off the success of Heinz’s 2015 mustard launch.

“It's been an honor for David Miami to work on this year's Super Bowl spot for Heinz,” said Anselmo Ramos, founder and chief creative officer, David Miami. “Ever since we created the Heinz bottle characters last year — Heinz Original Ketchup, Heinz Yellow Mustard and Ex-Mustard — we've been having a lot of fun with this campaign. From the beginning of the creative process, we tried to find something simple, visual, and fun to communicate that hot dogs can’t resist the great taste of Heinz. So what better way than to introduce the extended Heinz Family than with a Weiner Stampede during the Super Bowl?”

A longer version of the spot is available online and the campaign is being supported in social with the #MeettheKetchups hashtag.
