Brent Hieggelke has been named SVP Marketing for Vadio, a customizable music video platform for media companies and brands. Hieggelke has spent the last four years in the lead marketing role at Urban Airship, building it into a global market leader in the mobile engagement category. He joins the company as it sees continued growth.

“We are excited to add Brent to our stellar executive team. He has led marketing for some of the most pioneering advertising and technology companies in the world, including those that fundamentally transformed their industries and inspired new marketplaces,” said Bryce Clemmer, Vadio CEO. “Brent is also renowned for diving into the fast-paced start-up world. With the caliber of the media companies we are working with, Brent will help Vadio build the most engaging new digital video offering available today.”

Hieggelke has extensive experience in the startup community with Second Porch, the first socially-powered vacation rental site, which was sold to HomeAway, now part of Expedia.

Vadio, based in Portland, Oregon and named 2015 Portland Business Journal startup of the year, is touted as a solution for digital video advertising, by providing both premium video music content and video advertising monetization solutions in a turnkey manner. It has recently launched major implementations at CBS-owned radio.com and metrolyrics.com. According to Nielsen, music video streaming grew by 102 percent in 2015 and Vadio is now part of an ecosystem that includes industry mainstays YouTube (with YouTube Music) and Spotify, which recently launched video on its platform.

“Vadio is offering the perfect service at exactly the right time, said Hieggelke. “Digital video advertising is drawing the most interest for brands and advertisers today, predicted to grow from $9bn to over $14bn in the next four years.”

Partly funded by Portland-based global independent agency Wieden+Kennedy, Vadio currently powers music video channels across 80 digital web properties and apps.
