Twitter reaction: Creative legend David Bowie dies at age 69
Music legend David Bowie has passed away at the age of 69 after a 18 month battle with cancer.
The new of singer's passing was announced by his film director son, Duncan Jones, in a statement released on Bowie’s official social media accounts.
"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer," it said.

The statement went on to say: "While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of grief." Duncan Jone’s confirmed the news from his own Twitter account, adding that he would be “offline for a while”
