DDB New York’s chief creative officer Icaro Doria thinks the best creatives are the ones who are "so passionate about their ideas that you don't have to tell them that they can do better."

The Brazil native took on his new role at DDB in March where he’s been tasked with coming up with new and more nimble ways to create great work for clients.

Before joining DDB New York, he founded and served as executive creative director of Wieden + Kennedy Sao Paulo.

Throughout his career, Doria has held creative director positions at Saatchi & Saatchi, Y&R, and Goodby Silverstein & Partners.

In 2010, he left the US for Brazil to open Wieden + Kennedy’s Sao Paolo shop, helping it grow from a “kitchen table” to an office staffed with more than 100 people working on big initiatives like Coca-Cola’s global effort for last year’s World Cup.

The Drum's full interview with Doria can be viewed above. See what McCann's global creative chairman Rob Reilly had to say when we asked him what it takes to be a great creative.
