Barclays on the hunt to replace marketing chief Sara Bennison who has left for Nationwide

Barclays has confirmed that Sara Bennison left her role as chief marketing officer at the banking group, with no one yet earmarked as a replacement in an "ongoing" recruitment process.

She is joining Nationwide as chief marketing officer and will sit on the executive committee.

Bennison joined Barclays from BT in 2007 where she was head of marketing communications, Prior to that she’d spent her time in agencies, spanning senior roles across the likes of JWT and Grey, where she was managing partner.

She is a key figure in the UK marketing industry, having been involved in industry organisations such as ISBA and the ASA. She has also been involved in The Drum events such as The Drum Live and Do It Day.
