November was a huge month for the major TV broadcasters as sweeps week took place to determine fates of many of the season's new shows. The Blacklist (NBC), Gotham (Fox), Quantico (ABC) and Colbert (CBS) topped the lists. Here are the charts and full insights from SimilarWeb.

Insights NBC Shows:

  • Fans of Chicago P.D.- where did you go in November? In October the show ranked 1st on NBC, but in November it slid all the way to 10th, barely making the list. Instead, The Blacklist moves up one spot and is now top dog for NBC’s online viewers.
  • With Chicago P.D. slipping, other popular shows were able to move up in the rankings and The Voice, Heroes Reborn, and SNL, all moved up one spot and occupy positions 2-4 on the list.
  • Is Jimmy Fallon no longer relevant to NBC’s online viewers? The Tonight Show ruled NBC in September, slipped to 6th place in October, and has now vanished from our rankings. Bernie Sanders made an appearance on December 8th, will that give the show a boost next month?
  • The Grimm, a supernatural police drama is now the most popular police show on NBC with just over 4% of the top traffic share.
  • New to this month’s list is Chicago Fire, the Fire Department counterpart to Chicago P.D. which has aired crossover episodes with Chicago P.D. and also with Law and Order SVU which ranks 8th on November’s list.

Insights ABC Shows:

  • It’s official, ABC fans love Quantico, an FBI thriller in its first season on television. The show now commands nearly 20% of ABC’s top 10 traffic and has risen steadily in the rankings since premiering in September.
  • One of ABC’s most popular television nights of the year, The American Music Awards managed to stay relevant throughout November and was the 4th most popular show in the month.
  • How to Get Away with Murder was the top ABC show in October but slipped to 5th in November. The show is on hold until February so we expect it to continue to fall in the rankings until then.
  • The Muppets continue their slow slide into oblivion and unfortunately the lovable characters have not found a major audience with ABC’s online viewers. Like HTGAWM, the show is on hiatus until February, so don’t expect to see them in December and January’s top 10.
  • Noticeably missing in ABC’s top 10 are Dancing With the Stars, which ranked 10th last month, Shark Tank, Dr. Ken, and Blood and Oil.

Insights CBS Shows:

  • Nothing new at the top of the CBS top 10, Stephen Colbert continues to dominate the network’s traffic and once again Big Bang Theory is right behind him in second. Big Bang Theory is hyping up an episode in December where Sheldon and Amy finally have coitus, can this be enough to claim CBS’s top spot?
  • Supergirl ranked just 8th in October, but now claims the 3rd spot with a solid 13% of the top ten traffic. With Supergirl doing well on CBS and Jessica Jones kicking butt on Netflix it’s been a good year for female superheroes.
  • New to the CBS list is Madam Secretary, a political drama in which a CIA analyst becomes Secretary of State and then acting President of the United States. Could this be foreshadowing a different woman’s rise from SoS to President?
  • CBS viewers like consistency and many of this month’s shows are relatively unchanged when compared to October. Limitless, though, slipped from 4th to 8th as the show struggles to maintain a dedicated audience
  • Some popular shows that are absent from the CBS top 10 list are Scorpion, Elementary, and NCIS’s cousin, NCIS Los Angeles.

Insights FOX Shows:

  • Gotham and Scream Queens have swapped places at the top of FOX’s list and in a tight race for first, Gotham now holds a narrow lead.
  • Family Guy remains the most popular comedy on FOX with 9% of the top 10 traffic. It easily outranks fellow FOX comedies: Bob’s Burgers, The Last Man on Earth, Brooklyn Nine Nine and The Simpsons.
  • FOX is the only network of the 4 that had the exact same 10 shows as last month, and they had a similar ranking to last month as well. The most any show moved up or down in November’s ranking was 2 spots. What does the FOX say? Basically the same thing as last month.
  • The Last Man on Earth aired a quasi-finale on December 13th with a huge cliffhanger. We’ll see in December if this was enough to give them a push and move up the rankings.
  • Falling outside the top 10 for FOX are Masterchef Junior, Grandfathered, and the struggling Minority Report, which was doing so poorly that FOX cut the series down to 10 episodes.
