As brands continue to weigh on on the current Star Wars obsession, DIY store Wickes has produced a plan to help customers build their very own Death Star.

The fail-safe five-step guide, which has been viewed by 1.2m intergalactic fans so far, provides users with the know-how on how to create a model fit for other-worldly conditions.

With advice like "place your Death Star far, far away from water hazards, fire risks and Anoat asteroid belts," and tips on how to give your new project "an ominous finish," the instructions have made sure all bases are covered.

In the absence of an angle grinder, the homeware retailer suggests that a "lightsaber can work as a great alternative".

A variety of marketers and publishers, including the Sun, Campbells and Lego, have got in on a slice of the Star Wars action following last week's release of The Force Awakens.
