Digital agency AD has appointed Sophie Southworth as the agency’s new business development director. With over 10 years’ experience in the marketing and communications sector, Southworth joins AD’s Manchester base from live brand communications agency Journey9.

AD's new business development director Sophie Southworth.

The appointment comes at the end of a significant year of growth for AD, which saw the agency enter Manchester through the acquisition of digital agency Fluid Creativity and the creation of a new US branch, We Are AD Inc.

AD’s managing director David Johnstone said: “Sophie’s appointment is a fantastic ending to one of our most exciting years yet. Manchester is a home of ours now and we’re thrilled to have such a respected name, not only helping us expand our profile further afield, but also continuing our integration with local businesses.”

Southworth said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining AD, particularly during such an exciting period of growth. The team’s work is something I’ve admired for a while, and I can’t wait to help take their knowledge to new sectors and clients.”

AD operates offices in Manchester, Glasgow and London, servicing clients including the BBC, EDF Energy Group, Robert Gordon University, Almeida Theatre and Morson Group.
