Deezer is building on its growing library of content outside music with the expansion of its football podcasts and live commentary to an additional 14 European countries.
After a successful launch of Deezer Football earlier this year in the UK and Germany the service will now be made widely available to football fans throughout Europe.
The expansion will see TalkSport’s Premier League and FA Cup game commentary and podcasts available in countries such as Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Romania, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Denmark, Spain and Italy.
Alexander Holland, chief content and product officer at Deezer said “the addition of sports content on Deezer has already proven popular in the UK and Germany, and we are happy to offer this to our listeners across Europe.”
TalkSport’s chief executive, Scott Taunton, said “It’s testament to talkSPORT’s world class football coverage that Deezer are taking our content to an even wider audience across Europe.”
Deezer’s football content is a significant part of the streaming services continued push to expand its content offerings away from that of larger rivals Spotify and Apple Music. The podcasts and other non-music related contentbegan to emerge on the platform after the French-founded company purchased Stitcher last year, allowing it to have full podcast integration.
