Louis Walsh returns to the X Factor in John Lewis 'Man on the Moon' parody
As if thousands of online parodies and a spoof ad from Aldi weren't enough the X Factor has released its own take on John Lewis' 'Man on the Moon' Christmas advert, bringing back former judge Louis Walsh in the process.
Axed from the panel after 11 years in favour of BBC Radio One breakfast host Nick Grimshaw, Walsh played the 'Man on the Moon' in the show's take on the ad.
The clip saw Walsh peering at Wembley Arena, where the final was taking place, through a telescope from his lonely exile.
Predictably X Factor fans went crazy for the joke online sharing their delight on Twitter.
Someone at ITV needs a pay rise for doing a scene with Louis Walsh on the moon. Genius. #XFactor

Ok, the Louis Walsh on the moon joke was very funny. Well done them. The rest of the show can't live up to that. #xfactor — Doug Robertson (@flumcake) December 12, 2015
