Some people aren’t willing to let Volkswagen forget its mistakes, particularly one discontented VW owner who has used his van for an anti-advertising rant to implore others to avoid buying one.

The company’s attempts to repair its tattered image post emissions-gate are well underway with news that it will increase its digital spend in a bid to become more transparent and a five point plan documenting the brands future.

But one unhappy VW owner wants to ensure that people aren’t convinced by the brand repair campaign and has decided to share their grievances against it on the most appropriate platform: the side of one of its vehicles.

The rant on the side of a VW transporter reads: “Thinking about buying a new VW transporter? I wouldn’t recommend it.”

It then lists a number of problems which they claim the van has had such as “this van has covered 60 miles and needs a new engine”. Another point accuses the company of knowing of about an inherent defect and doing nothing about it.
