John Lewis (retailer) sends John Lewis (man) #ManOnTheMoon telescope in thanks for handling tweet bombardment
A man called John Lewis, who just so happens to carry the ‘@JohnLewis’ handle on Twitter, has been sent a telescope by the retailer of the same name after his account was bombarded with comments as a result of ‘The Man on The Moon’ Christmas ad.
Lewis, from Blacksburg, Virginia, USA, became the focal point for a great many online interactions after the retailer's Man on the Moon ad went viral.
Thanking him for handling the endless stream of tweets (and for taking time to answer and redirect them), John Lewis sent John Lewis a telescope much so the computer science lecturer can also observe the sky at night.
Sincere thanks to @johnlewisretail who sent me a beautiful telescope as a thank you for redirecting wayward tweets. https://t.co/QCylvnkEoN

John Lewis saved himself the £379.95 RRP of the Celestron Cosmos 90GT Wi-Fi Telescope as a result of the gesture.
