Pringles sexes up Christmas with meat scented candles and Strictly star, Ola Jordan, in lingerie
Cinnamon, clove, pine needles and zesty orange may be the scents most strongly associated with Christmas but tradition has not deterred Pringles in its festive marketing campaign which is partnering with Strictly star, Ola Jordan, to release a range of scented candles based on its most popular flavours.
Brushing aside tradition, Pringles is aiming to fill festive gatherings with the aromas of Cheesy Cheese, Texas BBQ and Pigs in Blankets, allowing the savoury scents to live on long into the night after the crisps have been eaten.
Strictly Come Dancing star Ola Jordan helped launch the range of three candles in a series of provocative photos showing the professional ballroom dancer wearing racy red lingerie and a Mrs Clause outfit.
A Pringles spokesperson said: “Sales of Pringles soar by almost 150 per cent at Christmas time when everyone’s enjoying parties and catch-ups with their friends and family. So what better way to create the perfect festive atmosphere than with the scented Pringles Candle. It’s just not Christmas without the scent – and, of course, delicious taste – of Pringles.
“The Pringles Candle is a great stocking filler: if the supermarket runs out of Pigs in Blankets on your Christmas dinner shop, you could simply light a Pringles Pigs In Blankets Candle on December 25 and have the same meaty odour waft through the house.”
The three flavours, which the Kellogg-owned company has described as “particularly pungent”, will be available in an initial run of 500 candles.
