A business-to-business partnership has formed between celebrity contractor Scott McGillivray, host of the award-winning TV show Income Property and building products manufacturer CertainTeed Corporation, a U.S. company that is considered to be a leader in sustainable building products.

The show, whose primary focus is to assist homeowners by building rental units within their homes as a way to generate income, will showcase Certain Teed's wide range of building materials on future episodes of Income Property. Additionally, the partnership will include event appearances, collaborative website and social media sharing.

"CertainTeed's long-standing commitment to manufacturing a wide breadth of high performance, sustainable building materials fully aligns with my philosophy of smart home renovation and passion for helping homeowners get the most value out of their biggest investment," McGillivray said.

The company has received top honors from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and recently received the 2015 ENERGY STAR sustained excellence award.

Now in its 11th season, McGillivray evaluates, plans, and executes renovations by presenting homeowners with two state-of-the-art plan options, enhanced by CGI and three-dimensional animation. The final scenes reveal a beautifully staged rental suite and data on how the value of the home has increased.

The remodeling project on the show will also showcase brands like Forticel, a mold prevention coating and Membrain, a smart vapor retarder as well as Performa, a mineral fiber panel that is high humidity and sag resistant and Restoration Millwork which cuts and mills with traditional woodworking tools.

"Scott McGillivray shares our passion for sustainable innovation and the importance of taking a holistic, structural approach when remodeling a space," said Mara Villanueva-Heras, vice president of corporate marketing for CertainTeed Corporation. "We are fortunate to partner with such a respected and trusted resource to help us create greater awareness of the high performance and stylish solutions we offers North American homeowners."

CertainTeed is headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania but is a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, one of the top 100 industrial companies in the world. Saint-Gobain employs approximately 15,000 people in North America and nearly 190,000 people in 64 countries worldwide.

Income Property airs in more than 30 international markets and broadcasts on the DIY Network and HGTV in the U.S. and Canada.
