The improved London.gov site, designed to keep Londoners informed about the decisions, events and changes taking place across the City of London, has been launched today.

The new site was built by CTI Digital and designed by 5K.

The new site is designed to act as a platform for Londoners to learn about the work of their Mayor and stayed engaged with the issues which matter most to them. Features such as the ‘In My Area’ section will be regularly updated with information about local matters relevant to the individual London boroughs, ensuring Londoners are constantly engaged with their City.

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, said of the launch: “Our website should be the first port of call for Londoners who want to find out more about the decisions that affect where they live, so it’s vital that the site is easy to navigate and packed with useful information. As well as keeping people up to speed, our brand new website will encourage Londoners to get involved and have their say on what’s happening in their city.”

Extensive user research and beta testing took place during the development of the new site, which was built by digital agency, CTI Digital and designed by 5K.

Matt Pollitt, chief executive of 5K, said: “It has been exciting for 5K to re-imagine the Mayor of London and the London Assembly responsive website with the team over at City Hall. We feel that the new visual style, and more thoughtful organisation of information provides a much more modern and exciting portal for Londoners to find out more about their City. Working closely with CTI who developed the site, the new structure and layout allows more intuitive ways to deliver content, as well as open up opportunities for deeper engagement for City Hall with the people of London.”

CTI Digital managing director Nick Rhind said: “This site is a truly collaborative effort between the City Hall, 5K and CTI Digital but most importantly the people of London. The emphasis was on creating the best solution for the user. The site is now a colourful, dynamic, informative and engaging portal for Londoners.”
