Robin Grant, global managing director at We Are Social, has taken the top spot in this year's Social Buzz Top 50, published by The Drum.
The list, published in conjunction with the Social Buzz Awards, which took place in London last night (25 November), highlights the top 50 most influential individuals in social media marketing.
As a result of his first place ranking in the list, Grant, who has had a career in digital marketing spanning 18 years, collected the award for Social Buzz Individual of the Year at the Social Buzz Awards.
Six years ago he co-founded We Are Social alongside Nathan McDonald, a former account director at MRM Worldwide.
Following its acquisition by China's BlueFocus in late 2013, the past 12 months has seen the agency collect a 2014 Global Sabre award for Best Digital/Social Agency in the World and increase its staff from 350 to 500.
Closely following Grant in second place is Bruce Daisley, head of Europe at Twitter, who took the top spot last year, while Nicola Mendelsohn, vice-president of Facebook EMEA, is ranked third. The top five is completed by Microsoft's Paul Fabretti and Richard Costa D'Sa of Deep Focus London.
The Social Buzz Top 50 was curated by a panel of judges following an industry call for nominations.
