Engine, We Are Social, Lush Cosmetics, Zone and Wieden + Kennedy were among the winners at the Social Buzz Awards which took place in London this evening (25 November).

The night’s coveted Grand Prix award was scooped by The Engine Group for its work with NHS Blood and Transplant on the ‘Missing Type’ campaign. The campaign – which saw the letters A, O and B go "missing" from high profile places and brands – also won for Best Use of User-Generated Content, Best Public Sector Social Media Strategy as well as Best Integrated Campaign.

Judges said it was a “fantastic creative idea and very shareable” but also “innovative in its simplicity.”

Among the night’s other big winners was Wieden + Kennedy which picked up the award for Best Use of Twitter and Best Charity/Not for Profit Social Media Strategy for the #EndangeredEmoji campaign with the WWF.

The Chairman’s Award went to Lush Cosmetics for its #GayIsOK campaign while We Are Social was honoured with the Social Media Agency of the Year accolade.

Finally, Robin Grant, global managing director at We Are Social, was honoured as Social Buzz Individual of the Year after topping The Social Buzz Top 50. The full list will be published imminently on The Drum.

Commenting on the awards, Chairman and Twitter's head of brand strategy Will Scougal said: "It was fantastic to see so many entries covering such a broad spectrum of campaigns. Social platforms have changed dramatically over the last 12 months, let alone in the five years since The Drum Social Buzz Awards started.

"From content formats to targeting, the opportunities for brands to be active and successful in social are numerous, but the central need for a clear proposition and a good idea hasn't changed. The brands and agencies that brought a high level of craft and smart social thinking to their campaigns shone through, and that was reflected in the judging process."

A full list of winners can be found on the Social Buzz Awards website.
