The Drum expands coverage into APAC with Charlotte McEleny as Asia editor
The Drum is to expand its coverage into Asia Pacific with the hiring of Charlotte McEleny as Asia editor.
From December, McEleny, currently digital editor at Marketing, will be tasked with leading the growth of The Drum's coverage of the media and marketing sector in the region, and will relocate from London to Singapore early in 2016.
The move is the latest in The Drum's global expansion strategy which has included the opening of an office in New York at the beginning of this year.
Gordon Young, editor-in-chief of The Drum commented: "I am delighted that in Charlotte we have hired yet another excellent journalist to join our already incredibly talented team who will begin the next huge step in the evolution of this publication as it moves towards its goal of becoming the world first truly global media and marketing news and content platform which will reflect the increasingly global nature of the industry."
McEleny added: "Asia has got to be the most interesting markets for media and marketing at the moment. The huge diversity, scale and growth in the area makes it a really exciting opportunity."
McEleny has worked at titles such as 12 Ahead and NMA as she grew her knowledge of the digital marketing sector.
As well as New York, The Drum also has offices in London and Glasgow.
