US digital lifestyle media company Refinery29 is set to launch its UK website 23 November as part of a European expansion drive.
Looking to build a presence in the UK with dedicated content, a London-based team will develop and curate content focussed on style, beauty, entertainment, wellness and lifestyle news, to be distributed across a new slew of social channels.
Philippe von Borries, co-founder and co-chief executive of Refinery29, said: “As one of the creative centres of the world, the UK is a key audience for Refinery29.
“By launching a dedicated UK platform, we are expanding our global network of creative leaders with content that will serve and represent our UK audience and continue to inspire women worldwide.”
A team of 11 editorial staff will spearhead the UK launch, with Sarah Raphael to act as UK editor.
The UK launch is the first step in the Refinery29 global expansion strategy, which will extend to France and Germany in early 2016.
