Ice cream brand Häagen Dazs has named Love its global lead design agency.

The appointment sees Love initially charged with handling the brand’s design direction, the first of several briefs the agency will face.

Häagen Dazs senior marketing manager, Richard Schmidt, said Love proved it was “an agency that will challenge us, ask questions and encourage debate about our brand.”

Love chief executive, Trevor Cairns, said of the appointment: “We’ve delved right into the DNA of Häagen Dazs, its history, where it is today and where it can go.

“The category is primed for a design language that really stands out and tells a brand story. It’s a brilliant brand to work for and the team at Love are over the moon to be working on.”

Hollywood star Bradley Cooper currently serves as a brand ambassador for Häagen Dazs appearing this summer in a commercial for its Strawberries and Cream variant.
