EE, the UK's largest mobile operator, is moving to counter claims from rival outfit Three that it is "the undisputed" most reliable network in the country, having taken to Twitter to highlight analytics that point to the contrary, as well as taking the case in front of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

The dispute centers on which mobile operator can provide the best coverage, with Three quoting YouGov statistics claiming Three is "The undisputed. UK's most reliable network. Again." This claim was made in an outdoor execution as part of its current #makeitright campaign.

However, EE has since taken to Twitter to take issue with Three's "undisputed" claim, with the mobile operator's official account, linking to a report containing data from Root Metrics that puts itself ahead of Three in terms of network quality, and further countered it with the hashtag #getitright.

An EE spokesperson contacted The Drum explaining that it would take the matter up further by pleading its case with the ASA. The Drum subsequently contacted Three asking for a response, it has since issued the below statement.

“According to YouGov, Three has been rated the most reliable network by consumers on five consecutive occasions. Customers rated Three highest on all topics relating to reliability, such as reliability for calls and texts, reliability during the day and reliability during the evening. Three also came out top for ‘Overall Reliability’’. We are very proud of this accolade, which is why we have chosen to celebrate it in our current ATL activity.”
