DDB Worldwide has snapped up Coca-Cola’s Wendy Clark to lead its North America operation from the beginning of 2016.

Atlanta-based Clark, who is currently the president of sparkling brands and strategic marketing in North America at Coca-Cola, will relocate to New York to serve at DDB WW's headquarters.

Mark O'Brien vacates the role to Clark, instead moving on to executive vice president at Omnicom Group.

A memo sent to Coca-Cola employees by Sandy Douglas, president of Coca-Cola North America, and picked up by Adage, reads: “Wendy's impact on our business has been significant. Over the course of her seven-year tenure with us, she has guided our global and North America marketing teams.

“Under her direction, many of our brands found their voice and an authentic presence in the social and digital world. Through it all, she has been an inspiring ambassador for our flagship brand.”

Clark was a vital figure in the global roll-out of the Share a Coke campaign in 2013.

With her experience leading marketing drives for Coca-Cola, Clark helped make up a record-breaking Cannes Lions judging panel, which boasted its highest ever ratio of females, in 2015.
