People on the move: Hires and departures at Yahoo, Bloomberg, Harley-Davidson, Hootsuite and more

This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key hires below.

Yahoo

Yahoo has appoionted Weve managing director Nigel Clarkson to the role of UK managing director and country commerical director.

In the role Clarkson will oversee Yahoo’s business in the UK and the promotion of its advertising offering, including its programmatic ad stack BrightRoll and its native marketplace Yahoo Gemini, to brands and agencies in the UK.

Harley-Davidson

Harley-Davidson's senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Mark-Hans Richer, has left the company.

The move comes less than a month after the motorcycle maker said it was investing more in marketing and product development.

Richer has been senior vice-president of marketing since 2007 before which he spent nine years with General Motors in a number of different senior positions.

Bloomberg Media

Bloomberg Media has appointed Scott Havens, former senior vice president of digital at Time Inc, as its new global head of digital.

Based in New York, Haven will assume responsibility for global consumer digital initiatives, overseeing digital product, user experience, partnerships, and overall digital strategy, mobile apps, over-the-top platforms, and distributed content partnerships.

Hootsuite

Hootsuite has snapped up Bob Elliott as senior vice-president of global sales.

Elliott brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in building high-performing sales teams and driving revenue growth at leading companies such as SAP, Ariba, i2, JD Edwards, and Sybase.

He will lead all aspects of Hootsuite’s global enterprise sales strategy and execution to fuel the company’s continued revenue and international growth.

Lambie-Nairn

Branding agency Lambie-Nairn, has promoted Andy Hayes to managing director across its UK, Germany and Middle East business.

Previously regional director in the Middle East, Hayes will continue to oversee the Lambie-Nairn business in the region as well as Africa and India, working for clients such as Saudi Telecom and Dubai Tourism. He will also be charged with overseeing work for clients within the Northern European region.

GroupM

WPP's GroupM has announced the appointment of Brian Lesser as chief executive officer for its operations in the US and Canada.

Lesser, who previously held the position of global chief executive at programmatic media and technology firm Xaxis, will take over from incumbent Kelly Clark as she migrates to an advisory role focused on strategic initiatives with clients and speciality businesses over the next few months.

iProspect

Digital performance agency iProspect has hired Lee Thomas as head of its strategic content offering Create.

The role sees Thomas take on leadership and strategic accountability across all content and social output for the agency. He will report to Ben Sutherland, chief performance officer.

Previously the Head of Content and Strategy at HavasEHS, where he established the content and social strategy team, Thomas has over 12 years’ experience within digital.

LoopMe

Paul Gibbins, formerly of Teads, is to join mobile video advertising platform LoopMe to lead programmatic operations

A well-established media professional with experience in the UK, Europe and APAC, Gibbins arrives from Teads where he was head of UK programmatic sales. Previously having held positions at Smartclip, MCN Australia, Turner Broadcasting and Sky, he has worked across all areas of digital, including mobile, VOD, connected TV and broadcast.

At LoopMe he will be responsible for driving forward the company’s programmatic offering on a global scale.

Quantcast

Quantcast has announced two additions to its leadership team as the company continues its global growth.

Sandra McDevitt, most recently Google’s director of people operations and talent programs has been appointed vice-president of people and places, while Paul Curtis, previously vice-president of commercial strategy at NBCUniversal, joins as new director of agency group Partnerships.

Impero

Creative, digital and social agency Impero has appointed Dan Deeks-Osburn as lead strategist.

He will develop and maintain, brand, communications, digital, content and social media strategies across the agency’s client roster.

Additionally, Neil Higton will also join the team as client partner to run two of the agency’s key accounts – Beefeater Gin and Campo Viejo. His most recent role seen him serve as head of social at Essence.

Holmes & Marchant

Leading brand design consultancy Holmes & Marchant it has hired Harry Cox as senior designer to work across its client portfolio.

Reporting to Jeremy Shaw, Holmes & Marchant creative director Europe, he will be working across the agency's range of clients, from Unilever to Informa.

He joins from his position of designer at branding agency BrandOpus, where he worked on accounts such as McCain, Badger Ales, Twinings, Belvedere, Harvey Nichols, and Raffles Hotels & Resorts.
